Wie zoeken we?

Het project ‘Conceptueel hydraulisch model’ beoogt een tool te laten ontwikkelen die toelaat om de afwatering van de stad op verschillende niveaus (stadsdeel, wijk, straat, plein, …) te beheren, analyseren, simuleren en ontwerpen.

Deze tool omvat enerzijds een rekenmodel dat de waterinfrastructuur van de stad Antwerpen kan simuleren en een workflow toepassing die GIS- en andere ruimtelijke data kan beheren en aanleveren aan het rekenmodel en de resultaten kan visualiseren. De toepassing dient gebruik te maken van en de resultaten te kunnen bewaren in de ArcGIS (ESRI) omgeving van stad Antwerpen.

Daarom zijn we enerzijds op zoek naar integratoren, ontwikkelaars en leveranciers van rekenkundige modellen voor hydraulische simulaties, bijvoorbeeld SWMM5. Dit voorbeeld is zeker niet limitatief. We zijn actief op zoek naar modellen die performanter of op andere niveaus van detail kunnen ingezet worden.

Anderzijds zijn we op zoek naar ontwikkelaars en leveranciers van professionele workflow toepassingen voor het beheer van water in een GIS-omgeving. Bedrijven met ervaring in visualisatie van GIS-data en in het ontwerpen van waterinfrastructuur op stedelijk niveau zijn eveneens relevant en nodigen wij daarom graag uit om deel te nemen aan de marktconsultatie. 

Doel project

Hydraulische computermodellen vormen een wezenlijk onderdeel van het waterbeleid van een stad. Ze laten toe de grootte van overstromingen in te schatten en “wat-als scenario’s” te onderzoeken.

De stad Antwerpen en water-link i.s.m. Aquafin beschikken over zeer gedetailleerde hydraulische modellen. Het opbouwen, aanpassen en gebruiken van zo’n model vergt echter veel tijd. Een dergelijk hoog detail is nuttig voor een uitvoeringsontwerp, maar voor plan- en ontwerptoepassingen binnen de stad is deze aanpak niet efficiënt.

Daarom wenst stad Antwerpen samen met Aquafin voor de stad een hydraulisch model te laten ontwikkelen dat aansluit bij de plan- en ontwerpflow van de stad Antwerpen. Zo’n model moet toelaten om sneller en meer ruimtelijk gebaseerd te werken. Planners en ontwerpers zullen dus sneller een aantal zaken hydraulisch kunnen aftoetsen en nagaan wat de ruimtelijke impact is. Water wordt zo van in het begin meegenomen in elk plan- en ontwerpproces.

Doel marktconsultatie

Tijdens de marktconsultatie willen we vraag- en aanbodzijde voor dit project samenbrengen en 'matchen'. Het is de bedoeling om na te gaan in hoeverre bedrijven oplossingen kunnen aanreiken voor de behoeften en noden van Stad Antwerpen en hoe haalbaar (qua tijd, budget, ontwikkelingstraject, enz.) en innovatief deze oplossingen zijn.

Eveneens wensen wij ontwikkelaars en leveranciers van hydraulische rekenmodellen samen te brengen met ontwikkelaars en leveranciers van workflow toepassingen voor GIS-data. De marktconsultatie zal in detail ingaan op noden en wensen van beide onderdelen van de toepassing.

Er wordt geen voorbereiding (in de vorm van presentaties, pitches of dergelijke) verwacht van de deelnemende bedrijven en organisaties. Addestino Innovation Management zal de discussie interactief aanpakken en modereren. Voor een vlotte discussie en goed resultaat is het wel aangewezen om uw bedrijf of onderzoeksgroep te laten vertegenwoordigen door een technische medewerker (eerder dan door een sales- of PR-medewerker). Zij kunnen doorgaans beter en sneller inschatten wat de technologische oplossingen kunnen zijn voor elke use-case. De uitkomst van de marktconsultatie moet Stad Antwerpen in staat stellen om een geschikte innovatieve oplossing voor de gestelde behoefte te laten ontwikkelen of aan te kopen via een overheidsopdracht.

Waar en wanneer?

De marktconsultatie gaat door op 26 maart en zal, ingevolge de COVID-19 pandemie, volledig online georganiseerd worden. De voertaal is Engels.

U zult enkele dagen op voorhand de link naar de virtuele marktconsultatie ontvangen. Om de marktconsultatie te kunnen bijwonen, dient u ten minste te beschikken over een PC of laptop met een stabiele internetconnectie. Tijdens de marktconsultatie zal er informatie via het scherm gedeeld worden en zal er door de moderator feedback gevraagd worden via een aparte webapplicatie. Om vlot te kunnen participeren wordt het afgeraden om gebruik te maken van een mobiel toestel. De marktconsultatie is een interactieve sessie en dus moeilijk te combineren met andere online vergaderingen.

Target audience

The 'Conceptual hydraulic model' project aims to develop a tool that allows to manage, analyse, simulate and design the drainage of the city at different levels of detail (city district, district, street, square, ...).

This tool includes on the one hand a computational model that can simulate the water infrastructure of the city of Antwerp and a workflow application that can manage GIS and other spatial data and supply this data to the computational model and retrieve and visualize the results. The application must retrieve source data from and store the results in the ArcGIS (ESRI) environment of the city of Antwerp.

Therefore, we are looking for integrators, developers, and suppliers of computational models for hydraulic simulations, for example SWMM5. This example is by no means limiting. We are actively looking for models that can be used more efficiently or at different levels of detail.

On the other hand, we are also looking for developers and suppliers of professional workflow applications for water management in a GIS environment. Companies with experience in the visualization of GIS data and in the design of water infrastructure at an urban level are also relevant and we therefore gladly invite those companies to participate in the market consultation as well.

Goal of the project

Computational hydraulic models are an essential part of a city's water policy. They allow to estimate the magnitude of floods and to investigate “what-if scenarios”.

The city of Antwerp and water-link i.c.w. Aquafin already have very detailed hydraulic models. However, building, maintaining, and using such a model takes a lot of time. Such high detail is useful for a detailed design, but for urban planning and design applications this approach is not efficient.

That is why the City of Antwerp together with Aquafin wishes to have a hydraulic model developed for the city, that matches the planning and design flow of the City of Antwerp. Such a model should make it possible to work faster and more spatially. Planners and designers will therefore be able to check a number of things hydraulically more quickly and determine the spatial impact. This way, water is included in the planning and design process from the start.

Goal of the market consultation

During the market consultation we want to bring together and 'match' the supply and demand sides of this project. The aim is to examine to what extent companies can provide solutions for the needs and requirements of the City of Antwerp and Aquafin, and how feasible (in terms of time, budget, development setup, etc.) and innovative these solutions are.

We also wish to bring developers and suppliers of computational hydraulic models together with developers and suppliers of workflow applications for GIS. The market consultation will discuss in detail the needs and requirements of both halves of the envisioned application.

There’s no preparation (in the form of presentations or pitches) expected from the participating companies and organizations. Addestino Innovation Management will facilitate the market consultation and moderate the discussions. For a smooth discussion and good results, it is recommended to have your company or research group represented by a technical employee (rather than by a sales or PR employee). They can usually estimate better and faster what the technological solutions could be for each use case. The outcome of the market consultation should enable the City of Antwerp to develop an appropriate innovative solution or to purchase as solution via a public tender.

Where and when?

The market consultation will take place on March 26th and will, because of the the COVID-19 pandemic, be organized completely online. The market consultation will be held in English.

You will receive the link to the virtual market consultation a few days in advance. To be able to attend the market consultation, you must at least have a PC or laptop with a stable internet connection. During the market consultation, information will be shared on the screen and feedback will be requested by the moderator via a separate web application. It is not recommended to participate using a mobile device. The market consultation is an interactive session and therefore difficult to combine with other online meetings.
