Wie zoeken we?

Voor het project ‘Vertihydro’ nodigen we samen met INAGRO en Verhaert Masters In Innovation producenten van teeltinstallaties, automatisatiebedrijven, onderzoeksgroepen en telers uit met kennis en ervaring in de bouw en ontwikkeling van elektromechanische installaties op maat en of kennis van nieuwe teelttechnieken in bladgroenten en vruchtgroenten of aangrenzende domeinen om deel te nemen aan een marktconsultatie.

Deelnemers hebben bij voorkeur een technisch commerciële achtergrond in volgende expertise domeinen:

• Elektromechanische systemen
• Procescontrole en -sturing
• Camera inspectie en beeldverwerking
• Instrumentatie
• Technische veiligheid
• Onderhoud en betrouwbaarheid

De marktconsultatie is bijzonder interessant voor automatisatie ingenieurs, product managers, proces ingenieurs, R&D managers of technisch commercieel verantwoordelijken.

Doel van het project

Het project beoogt het rendement te verhogen van glastuinbouwserres door in te zetten op telen in de hoogte en meervoudig ruimtegebruik, de zgn. verticale glastuinbouw.

Om tot productieverhoging te komen binnen de beschikbare beperkte ruimte, moet er gekeken worden naar verticale installaties. Hierbij zullen kost, robuustheid, modulariteit en flexibiliteit van gewassen belangrijke criteria zijn bij het ontwerpen van de innovatieve serre.

Verticale teeltinstallaties vinden hun ingang al in zogenaamde plantfabrieken, dit zijn sterk geconditioneerde omgevingen zodat de plant optimaal groeit. Het gebruik in glastuinbouwserres stelt echter nieuwe vereisten aan deze systemen in termen van klimaatconditionering (temperatuur, licht, vochtigheid), irrigatie, inspectie en controle van plantgoed en gebruiksgemak (inplanten, oogsten, reinigen). De economische opbrengst staat dan weer sterk in relatie tot de kostprijs van deze verticale systemen.

Inagro wenst twee verschillende systemen voor verticale teelt te installeren en valideren in de 12m hoge gevelserre van de Agrotopia dakserre. Deze systemen worden gedemonstreerd aan telers. De eerste betreft een vaste constructie in meerdere lagen. Een tweede betreft een roterende constructie in meerdere lagen. Beide hebben een eigen draagstructuur. Deze opdracht omvat enerzijds elektromechanische ontwikkeling en de bouw van de respectievelijke pilootinstallaties met installatie in de serre anderzijds.

Doel marktconsultatie

De marktconsultatie beoogt:

• Kennisname met de beoogde innovatie betreffende de ontwikkeling en bouw van twee pilootinstallaties voor meerlagige teelt van blad- en vruchtgroenten
• Aftoetsing van de vereisten, complexiteit en benodigde kennis van de beoogde pilootinstallaties
• Werfbezoek aan de Agrotopia serre
• Netwerking en kennismaking met het oog op partnerschappen en de vorming van consortia

We stellen een gevarieerd programma voor waarbij informatieoverdracht wordt gecombineerd met waardevolle interacties in de vorm van individuele gesprekken. Doelstelling is de vereisten aan te scherpen in functie van het bestek dat volgt op de marktconsultatie. Bedrijven en kennisinstellingen hebben ook de mogelijkheid hun expertise voor te stellen met het oog op later deelname. We voorzien tevens de mogelijkheid om kennis te maken met de technieken in de serreteelt.

Who should attend?

For the project 'Vertihydro' we invite, together with INAGRO and Verhaert Masters In Innovation, producers of cultivation installations, automation companies, research groups and growers with knowledge and experience in the construction and development of custom electromechanical installations and or knowledge of new cultivation techniques in leafy vegetables and fruit vegetables (or adjacent domains) to participate in a market consultation.

Participants preferably have a technical commercial background in the following areas of expertise:

• Maintenance and reliability

The market consultation is particularly interesting for automation engineers, product managers, process engineers, R&D managers or technical commercial managers.

Goal of the project

The project aims to increase the yield of greenhouse horticulture by focusing on cultivation in height and multiple use of space, the so-called vertical greenhouse horticulture.

In order to increase production within the available limited space, vertical installations must be considered. Cost, robustness, modularity and flexibility of crops will be important criteria when designing the innovative greenhouse.

Vertical cultivation is already used in so-called plant factories, which are highly conditioned environments that allow the plant to grow optimally. However, the use in greenhouse horticulture places new demands on these systems in terms of climate conditioning (temperature, light, humidity), irrigation, inspection, control of planting material and ease of use (planting, harvesting, cleaning). The economic yield is strongly related to the cost of these vertical systems.

Inagro wishes to install and validate two different systems for vertical cultivation in the 12m high greenhouse of the Agrotopia roof greenhouse. These systems are demonstrated to growers. The first concerns a fixed construction in several layers. A second concerns a rotating construction in several layers. Both have their own support structure. This assignment includes electromechanical development on the one hand and the construction of the respective pilot installations with installation in a dedicated greenhouse compartment on the other.

Goal of the market consultation

The market consultation aims to:

• Get acquainted with the intended innovation regarding the development and construction of two pilot plants for multi-layer cultivation of leafy and fruit vegetables in greenhouses.
• Assess the requirements, complexity and required knowledge of the intended pilot installations.
• Visit the Agrotopia rooftop greenhouse.
• Network with a view to partnerships and the formation of consortia.

We propose a varied program combining information transfer with valuable interactions in the form of individual conversations. The objective is to tighten the requirements in function of the upcoming tender that will be published late 2020.
