Een innovatieve bestemming voor de recyclage van biomassa

Wie zoeken we - doelpubliek?

Voor het project ‘Circulaire Ecogrondstoffenhub [1]’ nodigen we samen met ILvA, de Intercommunale voor afvalverwerking in de regio Land van Aalst, en Verhaert alle ondernemingen, consultants en onderzoeksgroepen uit met kennis en ervaring in één of meerdere van de volgende domeinen:

• pyrolysetechnieken;
• voorbewerkingen van biomassa zoals zeven, versnijden of versnipperen;
• verpakkingstechnieken voor bulkgoederen;
• de bouw en integratie van deze technieken in volledige verwerkingslijnen;
• recuperatie van restwarmte;
• gebruik van biochar in:
  • grondgebonden toepassingen;
  • bouwtoepassingen;
  • filtratie (water en lucht).

Bij voorkeur nemen medewerkers met technische competenties deel aan de consultatie. Het is immers de bedoeling om samen met hen de door ons uitgewerkte innovatieve concepten en de opzet van de beoogde piloot, kritisch te evalueren en te valideren.

Doel van het project

ILvA wil evolueren van afvalverwerking naar grondstofproductie en beoogt haar composteringssite in Schendelbeke om te vormen tot een circulaire ecogrondstoffenhub.

ILvA wenst met dit PIO-project de focus te leggen op een duurzame verwerking van biomassa en het sluiten van kringlopen door groenafval om te zetten naar biochar voor waardevolle (nieuwe) toepassingsgebieden. We leggen daarbij ook een focus op de recuperatie van energie in de vorm van warmte.

Met dit project wil IlvA, samen met PIO en industriële partners, op zoek gaan naar een goede synergie tussen lokale biomassaverwerking in combinatie met valorisatie van de biochar en maximale warmterecuperatie. Voor de afname van de biochar kijken we naar grondgebonden toepassingen zoals de aanplanting van bomen, naar bouwtoepassingen zoals betonproductie en naar filtratietoepassingen in water en lucht.

Doel marktconsultatie

Tijdens de marktconsultatie wordt u uitgenodigd om verschillende concepten en mogelijke deeloplossingen te evalueren naar  haalbaarheid,  innovatief karakter, randvoorwaarden, risico’s en de ontwikkelkosten van de concepten in te schatten.

De marktconsultatie zal online verlopen. Tijdens de marktconsulatie voorzien we ook de mogelijkheid voor één-op-één gesprekken (max. 15 minuten). Geïnteresseerde ondernemingen kunnen tijdens dit gesprek hun deeloplossing(en) en visie op de totaaloplossing kort voorstellen. Deze gesprekken bieden het projectteam een diepgaander inzicht in de algemene haalbaarheid van de voorgestelde oplossingen, ontwikkelrisico’s, investerings- en uitbatingskosten.

De uitkomst van de marktconsultatie moet ILvA toelaten om via een overheidsopdracht de pilootinfrastructuur te laten ontwikkelen en testen.

Waar en wanneer?

De publieke marktconsultatie gaat online door op 18 mei 2022 van 13:00 tot 15:30 (CET). Aansluitend is er de mogelijkheid tot een één-op-één gesprek van max. 15 minuten. In geval van een groot aantal aanmeldingen voor deze één-op-één gesprekken kan besloten worden om de gesprekstijd te beperken.

Uiterlijk één dag op voorhand, krijgt u de link voor de marktconsultatie en het tijdstip en de link voor het eventuele individuele gesprek toegestuurd. 

De marktconsultatie zal in het Engels verlopen.

Invitation market consultation BIOCHAR THE NEW NORMAL
An innovative destination for biomass recycling

Who are we looking for - target audience?

For the project "Circular Eco-resource Hub [2]" we invite together with ILvA, the intermunicipal partnership for waste processing in the "Land van Aalst" region, and Verhaert all companies, consultants and research groups with knowledge and experience in one or more of the following fields:

• pyrolysis techniques;
• biomass pretreatment such as sieving, cutting or shredding;
• packaging techniques for bulk goods;
• construction and integration of these techniques in complete processing lines;
• recovery of residual heat;
• use of biochar in:
  • land-based applications;
  • construction applications;
  • filtration (water and air).

Preferably, employees with technical competences take part in the consultation. After all, the aim is to critically evaluate and validate the innovative concepts we have developed and the design of the envisaged pilot together with them.

Purpose of the project

ILvA wants to evolve from waste processing to raw material production and aims to transform its composting site in Schendelbeke into a circular eco-resource hub.

With this PIO project, ILvA wants to focus on the sustainable processing of biomass and closing cycles by converting green waste into biochar for valuable (new) application areas. We also focus on the recuperation of energy in the form of heat.

With this project, IlvA, together with PIO and industrial partners, wants to look for a good synergy between local biomass processing in combination with valorisation of the biochar and maximum heat recovery. For the valorisation of the biochar, we are looking at ground applications such as tree planting, construction applications such as concrete production and filtration applications in water and air.

Purpose of market consultation

During the market consultation, you are invited to evaluate various concepts and possible partial solutions according to feasibility, innovative character, preconditions, risks and to estimate the development costs of the concepts.

During the online market consultation we also foresee the possibility of one-on-one conversations (max. 15 minutes). Interested companies can briefly present their solution(s) and vision on the total solution during this meeting. These discussions will provide the project team with a more in-depth insight into the general feasibility of the proposed solutions, development risks, investment and operating costs.

The outcome of the market consultation should allow ILvA to have the pilot infrastructure developed and tested under the preconditions of a public contract.

Where and when?

The public market consultation will take place online on 18 May 2022 from 13:00 to 15:30 (CET). Afterwards there is the possibility for a one-on-one meeting of max. 15 minutes. In case of a large number of registrations, it may be decided to limit the time for these one-to-one interviews.

At the latest one day in advance you will receive the link for the market consultation and the time and link for the possible one-on-one meeting.

The market consultation will be conducted in English.
